Use arrow keys on desktop or swipe on mobile to slide all tiles in one direction. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile with double the value. A new tile appears after every move. The goal is to create a tile with the number 2048.

The most effective strategy is the corner technique — keep your highest tile locked in one corner (bottom-right recommended) and never move away from that corner. Maintain a snake-like pattern of decreasing numbers flowing from your corner. Avoid moving up as much as possible and never move randomly.

Yes! You get 3 Undo moves per game. Click the Undo button to revert your last move. Use undos wisely — save them for critical mistakes that would end your game. The undo button becomes available after your first move and disables after you use all 3 undos.

Yes! Your best score is automatically saved in your browser using localStorage. It persists even after you close the browser and will show up the next time you play. The score updates in real time whenever you beat your previous best.

Absolutely! The game fully supports touch and swipe gestures on all mobile devices. Swipe left, right, up or down to move tiles. On-screen arrow buttons are also available for easier tapping on smaller screens. The board automatically adjusts to your screen size.

When you create the 2048 tile, a winning screen appears with a celebration. You can then continue playing to achieve higher tiles like 4096 or even 8192 for a higher score. The game continues as long as there are valid moves available on the board.
