Santoor is a traditional Indian classical instrument with 93 strings stretched across a trapezoidal wooden body, struck with light wooden hammers called mezrab. Pro Virtual Santoor simulates this with 31 playable notes across 3 octaves. Click any string or use keyboard keys to play. Pro Virtual Santoor has 31 notes across 3 complete octaves — Mandra Saptak (low, octave 3), Madhya Saptak (middle, octave 4), and Tar Saptak (high, octave 5). All 12 notes per octave are available including komal (flat) variants Re♭, Ga♭, Dha♭, Ni♭ and teevra (sharp) Ma#. All string labels show Devanagari script, sargam name, and keyboard shortcut.

6 raag patterns are available — Raag Bhairav (morning raga, serene and devotional), Raag Yaman (evening, teevra Ma, romantic), Raag Bhupali (evening, pentatonic, peaceful folk feel), Raag Desh (night, komal Ni, patriotic), Raag Bageshree (midnight, komal Ga Ni, deep emotional), Raag Durga (any time, no Ga Ni, powerful devotional). Each raag plays in a continuous loop at 5 speed settings from 0.5x to 2x.

Pro Virtual Santoor is a complete rebuild. The sound engine uses 4 detuned string groups per note with inharmonic overtones (like a real santoor has 3-4 strings per note), sharp mezrab attack, natural decay, and built-in concert hall reverb. The visual layout is trapezoidal with strings getting shorter at higher pitches — exactly like a real 93-string santoor. Devanagari sargam labels on every string make it authentic for Indian classical music learners.

In Indian classical tradition, raags have prescribed times — Raag Bhairav is a morning raga (dawn), Raag Yaman and Bhupali are evening ragas (sunset), Raag Desh and Bageshree are night ragas, and Raag Durga can be played any time.
