Free Interactive 3D Solar System
This 3D solar system model lets you explore the Sun and all eight planets from your browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. Planets spin and orbit in real time, the Moon circles Earth, Jupiter has its four big moons, Saturn has its rings and Titan, and an asteroid belt sits between Mars and Jupiter.
Today’s Real Planet Positions
The planets start where they actually are today, calculated from their orbital periods and positions. Use the speed menu to run time forward at up to 1,000 days per second and watch inner planets race around the Sun while Neptune barely moves. The date counter shows the date being simulated.
Control the Solar System With Your Hand
Turn on gesture control and the page uses your webcam and an on-device hand-tracking model. Hold up 1 finger for Mercury, 2 for Venus, 3 for Earth, 4 for Mars and 5 for Jupiter. A thumbs down opens Saturn, the rock sign Uranus and the shaka Neptune. When no hand is visible the camera returns to the full system view. Video is processed in your browser and is never recorded or uploaded.
Planet Facts for Students and Kids
Every planet has a fact card with its diameter, distance from the Sun, day and year length, moons, temperature and gravity, plus a short description and a fun fact. It is useful for homework, classrooms and anyone curious about space.
Sizes and Distances
Real distances in space are so large that a true-scale model would show planets as invisible dots. The planets here are drawn larger than life so they are easy to see. Compact mode keeps all orbits close together, while Realistic mode spreads the planets out in proportion to their real distances from the Sun, so you can feel how far the outer planets are.
