ℹ️ How to Use What Is My IP

See your IP: Your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses appear as soon as the page opens, with your approximate city, ISP, time zone and a map.
Look up anything: Type any IP address or even a domain name like example.com. Domains are resolved to their IP addresses first.
Check your privacy: Run the WebRTC test and read the VPN hints to see if your real IP, time zone or local address is visible to websites.
Convert and copy: Copy any value with one click, see the IP as decimal, hex and binary, and download the result as JSON.

What Is My IP Address?

Your IP address is the number that identifies your internet connection to websites and online services. This free tool shows the public IP address your connection is using right now, in both IPv4 and IPv6 format when both are available, together with the approximate location, internet provider and time zone that go with it.

IP Address Lookup for Any IP or Domain

Enter any IPv4 or IPv6 address to see the country, region, city, ZIP code, ISP, organisation, ASN, currency, calling code and a map. You can also type a domain name such as example.com: the tool finds its IP addresses through DNS and then looks them up. Private addresses like 192.168.1.1 are recognised and explained, because they only exist inside your own network.

IPv4 vs IPv6

IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.7 and are running out, so many networks now also use longer IPv6 addresses such as 2001:db8::1. If your provider supports both, this page shows both. The IP formats panel converts an address to decimal, hexadecimal and binary, and shows its reverse DNS name.

How Accurate Is IP Location?

IP geolocation is approximate. It usually points to the right country and often to the right city, but it can show your provider’s hub instead of your street. It never gives a house address. Mobile networks, VPNs and company networks can appear in a different city or country.

VPN and WebRTC Leak Test

A VPN is supposed to hide your real IP. Browsers can still reveal it through WebRTC, and a time zone that does not match your IP location is another clue. The privacy panel runs a WebRTC test, compares your browser time zone with your IP location and tells you if your network looks like a hosting or VPN provider. These are helpful hints, not a guarantee.

Privacy

To work, the tool contacts free public services: ipify to detect your IP, an IP data provider for location details, Cloudflare DNS for domain and reverse DNS lookups, and OpenStreetMap for the map. Anything you search for is sent to them. We do not store your IP or your searches on our servers. Recent lookups are saved only in your own browser and can be cleared at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your IP address is the number that identifies your internet connection to websites. This tool shows your public IPv4 and, if your provider supports it, your IPv6 address as soon as the page opens.

Yes — it is 100% free with no signup and no limits on how often you check.

IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.7 and are running out. IPv6 addresses are longer, like 2001:db8::1, and were created to give every device a unique address. Many connections now have both, and this tool shows both when available.

Yes. Type any IPv4 or IPv6 address and you get its country, region, city, ZIP code, ISP, organisation, ASN, time zone, currency and a map.

Yes. Enter a domain such as example.com, or even a full URL. The tool finds the domain’s IP addresses through DNS and shows the details of the first one, with the others listed so you can check them too.

IP location is approximate. It is usually correct for the country and often for the city, but it can point to your provider’s hub instead of your exact place. It never shows a street address or your house.

Mobile networks, VPNs, proxies and company networks route traffic through other cities, so the IP can appear far from you. The location database can also be out of date for new IP ranges.

No. An IP address only shows an approximate area and your internet provider. Only the provider can link it to a customer, and they share that only with legal authorities.

WebRTC is a browser feature that can sometimes reveal your real IP address even when you use a VPN. The test checks whether your browser exposes an address that differs from the one websites normally see.

Check that the IP, country and ISP shown here are the VPN’s and not your own, run the WebRTC leak test, and see whether the privacy panel warns about a time zone mismatch. These are helpful hints, not a guarantee.

An Autonomous System Number identifies the network that owns an IP range, for example a large ISP or a cloud company. It helps you see who actually operates the address.

Reverse DNS finds the host name linked to an IP address. Many providers set one, and it can give a clue about who runs the server. If none is set, the field stays empty.

Addresses such as 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x and 172.16–31.x.x are used inside home and office networks and cannot be located on the internet. The tool recognises them and explains the type instead of showing a location.

To work, it contacts free public services: ipify to detect your IP, an IP data provider for location details, Cloudflare DNS for domain and reverse DNS lookups, and OpenStreetMap for the map. We do not store your IP or your searches on our servers.

Only in your own browser, so you can reopen them quickly. You can clear them any time with the Clear button.

Yes. Copy any single value, copy all details, download them as a JSON file, or copy a share link that opens the same lookup.
